Miss Nellie Lyon 84, long-time Centerville resident, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital Thursday, March 28, 1968 at 11:20 a.m., She had been in ill health for several years and a hospital patient since March 21.
Born Feb. 14, 1884, in Plano, she was the daughter of Edwin and Catherine (Bear) Lyon.
She was coverted at the age of 16, and joined the Little Flock Baptist Church. Miss Lyon had resided in Centerville for 45 years and had been employed at St. Joseph Hospital for nine years.
Her parents, three sisters, Gertrude Lyon, Mary Alice Kirkland, Esther Wyrick; two brothers, Ira and Harry Lyon all preceeded her in death.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs Walter (Maude ) Haines of Plano; three brothers, Fred of San Diego, CA , Arthur of Yakima, WA, and Jay of Plano; nieces and nephews.
The Body is at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. C. Donald Thrash, pastor of First Baptist Church , will officiate and burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery west of Plano.
