Obituary read: "Bertha Jean Cadman, 65, of Covington, died at 7:30 a.m. EST Friday (Nov. 17, 2000) at her residence. She was born Dec. 12, 1934 in Veedersburg, Ind., the daughter of Robert E. and Mary Adeline Salts Townsend. They preceded her in death. She married Wilmer Lee Cadman July 10, 1965 in Covington. He died April 10, 1999.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kay Owens of Attica, Ind., Brenda Owens of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Kim , (Eric) McKinney of Covington; three sons, Tim (Sandy) Owens, Lee Cadman, man, and Darrell (Darla) Cadman, all of ' Covington;.10 grandchildren including Angel Owens and Shar Darwish, whom she raised; 9 great-grandchildren; 7 sisters, and 5 brothers. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Bertha was a homemaker who had resided in Covington all her life.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Monday, Nov. 20 at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington; Officiating: Pastor Paul Kent; a Visitation: Noon-2 p.m. EST Monday, Nov. 20; Burial: Coal Creek Cemetery in Covington; Memorials: American Heart Association."
