Obituary read: "Wilmer Lee "Dump" Cadman, 72, 2471 W 580 S, Covington, died at 9:30 P.M. Saturday, April 10, 1999 at his residence. Born October 12, 1926 in Perrysville, he was the son of James Fred and Hortense Vanicka Cadman. He married Bertha Jean Townsend July 10, 1965 in Covington, who survives. He was a life resident of the Stringtown and Covington area. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre.

Survivors besides his wife include: daughters, Lynn (John) Stone and Kay Owens, both of Attica, Brenda Owens, Crawfordsville, Kim McKinney, Covington; sons, Tim (Sandy Owens), Lee Cadman and Darrell (Darla) Cadman, all of Covington; sister, Martha Newell, Perrysville, Mary (Frank) Anderson, Georgetown, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Barney; a sister, Maxine Smith; and a nephew, Dean Cadman.

Funeral services were at 11 A.M. Tuesday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Joel H. Hutson officiating. Burial was in Coal Creek Cemetery, Covington. Military grave site rites were by the V.F.W. and American Legion." – Fountain County Neighbort, April 14, 1999
