Richard Lawrence Gschwender, 79, of Everett, Wash., passed away Sept. 12, 2010. He was born Nov. 28, 1930, the youngest of eight children, in Dayton, Ohio. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a driver for Mayflower Trucking, retiring after 33 years. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, of 25 years, Janet Gschwender of Las Vegas; and brothers, Charles, Albert, Bill and Victor. Richard is survived by his sisters, Martha and Anna; brother Joseph; six children, Richard Jr., Nancy, Ronny and Kenneth of Las Vegas, Charles of Oklahoma, and Tina of Hawaii; nine grandchildren, Jill, Joey, Jeannie, Christina, Christopher, Jonathan, Michale, Thyme and Kaylie; nine great-grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
