ARCOLA - Lloyd Frank "Jack" Cook, 85, of Arcola, formerly of Champaign, died at 5:50 a.m. Wed. (Nov. 29, 2000) at the Arcola Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust St., Arcola. The Rev. Jess Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Cook was born Feb. 13, 1915, in Douglas County, a son of John and Gail Bonner Cook. He married Florence Bandy. She died Dec. 25, 1969. He then married Mildred Basch. She died Jan. 29, 1978.

Surviving are a brother, Thomas Cook of Bourbon; and four sisters, Dorothy Pedigo of Arcola, Lois Henley of Paxton, Shirley Williams of Champaign, and Betty Ross of Royal.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Cook farmed in the Galton area from 1945 to 1958 and worked as a forklift operator for Clifford Jacobs until retirement in 1980. He then worked as a security guard for the News-Gazette for five years.

He served in the Army during World War II.
