She was born in Newville, a daughter of John B and Margaret Wolfe Marquart, and was widow of Ellis Barrick.
A published poet, best known for "Memories" and "Laughter and Tears", her published works, she was a member of the Shermans Dale Seventh Adventist Church and also a member of the American War Mothers.
At her death, she was survived by 6 sons, 3 daughters, 40 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, also 14 great-great grandchildren.
Services were held in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and burial in Young's Church Cemetery in Carroll Township.
