Clara A. Haas

Clara A. Haas, 101, formerly of rural Random Lake, died Sunday night, February 17, 1991, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Clara Haas was born October 22, 1889, in Adell, the daughter of the late Emil and Mary Hartwig Spieker, Sr.

On March 28, 1910, she married Walter Haas at Sherman Center. Mr. Haas died July 12, 1944. The couple farmed in the Town of Sherman for many years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Sherman Center and a charter member of St. John Mission Circle.

Survivors include three daughters, Hilda Krause, of Sheboygan; Norma (Marvin) Staege, of Adell; and Gertrude Liermann, of Merrill; one brother, Emil (Leila) Spieker, Jr., of Waldo; one sister, Mabel Billman, of Sheboygan Falls; five granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, six brothers and two sisters.


Funeral services for Clara Haas will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 1991, at St. John Lutheran Church, in Sherman Center. The Rev. Robert Lindau, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m., Thursday, until time of services.

A memorial fund has been established, in her name, for St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center.
