Emil R. Spieker, Sr., 81, a native of Brandenburg, Germany, passed away at his home at Adell early this morning after a lengthy illness. He had been confined to Sheboygan Memorial hospital for 10 weeks recently.

He was born Aug. 31, 1866, and was married in 1888 to Miss Mary Hartwig. The couple lived on a farm two miles north of Random Lake for 40 years and for the past18 years resided in Adell.

Mr. Spieker leaves his wife; seven sons, Louis and Otto, Random Lake, Hugo and Alvin, Adell, Oscar, Sheboygan Falls, Paul, Plymouth, and Emil Jr., Waldo; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Haas, Random Lake; Mrs. Erwin (Flora) Weinhold, Waldo; Mrs. Richard (Emma) Borkenhagen, Adell, and Mrs. Henry (Mabel) Billmann, Sheboygan Falls; and 28 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Emmanuel Lutheran church at Adell, the Rev. Paul L. Laabs, officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will not be opened after the services at the church.

The body will be taken from the Wilk Funeral Home at Random Lake to the residence Thursday afternoon and will lie in state there until 10 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church. It will lie in state at the church from 12 o'clock Saturday until the time of the serves.
