OBITUARY FOR WILLIAM GENTRY

A joint funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. June 2, 1982, in the chapel of Flint Funeral Home for William and Edna Gentry, long-time former Prosser residents, who made their home at Rt. 1 Box 1265A in Benton City.

Mr. Gentry, 93, died May 28, 1982, in Prosser Memorial Hospital and his wife, Edna, 81, passed away May 30, 1982, at Kadlec Hospital in Richland.

Officiating for the service was the Rev. Mary Killingstad, of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Sunnyside. Mrs. LaVerne Richman was the organist.

Bearing the caskets were grandsons of the couple, Ed Boob, Jim Gentry, Jeff Miland, Brent Petersen, Bud Schmidt and Walter Poe.

Concluding services and interment were June 2, 1982, at 2 p.m., in the Zillah Cemetery.

WILLIAM GENTRY
William A. Gentry was born June 28, 1888, in St. Paul, Arkansas, and came to Prosser in 1937. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellie, whom he married in 1911, and a son, Glenn, in 1955.

In 1937 he was united in marriage to Edna Alsbury Petersen and the couple had a daughter, Helen Marie.

Mr. and Mrs. Gentry are survived by a son, Ray Gentry of Sacramento; daughters, Gladys Jackson, Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Hazzard of Sunnyside; Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Miland of Wapato, a daughter-in-law, Clara Petersen, Prosser, Mrs. Ray (Phyllis) Boob of East Wenatchee; Mrs. Don (Chris) Parks of Sand Springs, Okla., and Mrs. Joe (Helen) Snyder of Benton City; 32 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

The family suggests that those who wish may make contributions to the American Heart Association.
