Wet Mountain Times, Westcliffe, Colorado, June 22, 1917
Passed Away Al Hamlin, and old-time resident of the valley, passed away at his home on Saturday last, aged 72 years past.
Mr. Hamlin had long been a sufferer of Bright's disease, but the direct cause of his death is attributed to pneumonia of which dread disease he had been ill only a few days.
The deceased was an honest, upright, industrious man, and was active in his work up to the time of his last illness. His demise will be mourned by many friends in his own community and throughout the valley.
He is survived by the widow and three daughters-Mrs. Ray Hunt, Mrs. Clarence Hunt and Miss Ethel Hamlin.
The funeral, largely attended, took place at the home Tuesday forenoon, Rev. Sara E. Doebler officiating, after which the remains were followed to the Ula cemetery where interment took place.
