Max Dean Bonnett
1925 - 2012

Our beloved Max left this mortal existence to join his dearly loved wife, Elaine, October 13, 2012. He was born November 20, 1925, to Leslie Dean and Nettie Beesley Bonnett. He was the only son in a family that included 3 daughters. He met his eternal sweetheart, Elaine Fairbourn on March 8, 1947. They were married May 22, 1948. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in the Provo/Orem area. The family was blessed with the additions of James, David, Val and Susan.

Max loved anything to do with flying and trained as an airplane mechanic. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and anything to do with the outdoors and taught his children to appreciate it as well. He and his wife were avid archers winning many tournaments. Max enjoyed lapidary work and made many treasured pieces of jewelry for friends and family. He was fascinated by gems and rocks and in his younger years spent many vacations looking for semi-precious stones and fossils. Max worked for Geneva Steel for 38 years.

Max was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled all callings valiantly. Throughout the years he served as Sunday School president, high priests group leader, and for many years was deeply involved in family history in various capacities. He and Elaine faithfully served three missions: Washington D.C., London, England, and Salt Lake City.

Max is survived by his sons, David (Beth), Val (Marilyn) and daughter Susan Munson, 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, his parents, sisters Erma, Eloise and Mildred, son James, son-in-law Stephen Munson, and granddaughter Sarah Munson Barker.

A viewing will be held Saturday, October 20, from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Steeplechase Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 165 East 1765 North, Orem, Utah. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
