Mildred loved the outdoors and all of God's creations. She gave freely to many animal charities and delighted in the warmth and happiness small animals and birds brought into her life.
Small in stature, yet none of the other welders on the Liberty Ships in San Francisco noticed, she pulled her weight as a true "Rosie the Riveter."
