Elaine Fay Fairbourn Bonnett 1930 ~ 2010
Our beloved Elaine passed away unexpectedly March 4, 2010, in Provo, Utah.
She was born February 12, 1930 in Granger, Utah, to Herman Glen and Mary Jane Trottier Fairbourn.
She attended schools in Granger and Jordan.
She met her sweetheart, Max Bonnett on March 8, 1947. They were married May 22, 1948. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in the Provo/Orem area. The family was blessed with the additions of James, David, Val and Susan.
Elaine's treasure was her family. Her most precious times were spent with them whether camping, picnicking, long vacations or simply visiting. She loved the outdoors and was an avid walker for many years enjoying the beauties of nature, including wildflowers, hummingbirds, gardening, photography, and sunsets.
She was an accomplished seamstress and her family appreciated her talents in this area. She was a pink lady at UVRMC for many years and recently had been volunteering at Orem Public Library.
Elaine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served valiantly in whatever capacity she could. Throughout the years she served as Relief Society President, primary teacher, and for many years was deeply involved in family history in various capacities. She and Max faithfully served three missions, Washington D.C., London, England, and Salt Lake City.
Elaine is survived by her husband Max, children David (Beth) Dewey, AZ; Val (Marilyn) Provo; Susan Munson (Mapleton), 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one brother, Jack Fairbourn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dick and Val, sisters Helen, Dorothy, and Thelma, son James and granddaughter Sarah Munson Barker.
A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Steeplechase LDS Church 165 East 1756 North, Orem, Utah.
Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
