Mrs. Alvie Ola Vead, who worked at City Hall in the finance and utilities rating department, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at her residence, 2228 Madeline street.

She apparently sustained a heart attack, according to Fire Chief Pearly Bonnette. Alexandria firemen answered an emergency call at 4:13 p.m. and attempted to revive Mrs. Vead but she did not regain consciousness.

Born in Effie, she had lived in Alexandria for the past 40 years. She was 53. She was the wife of Leonard R. Vead, Alexandria fireman.

Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Hettie Holmes, Mrs. Jane Michiels, Mrs. Audrey Watson, Mrs. Madelion Crump, and Mrs. Gerry Peart, and her mother, Mrs. Altha Reed, all of Alexandria.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic church, followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.
