Anton J. Herrman, 76, 417 West 12th, died Saturday morning at St. Anthony Hospital. A retired farmer of the Liebenthal community, he lived in Hays the past 17 years.

Herrman was married to Agnes Kreutzer Jan. 21, 1913 in Liebenthal. He was a 50 year member of the St. Joseph Knigths of Columbus Council of Liebenthal.

He is survived by the widow, Agnes, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Florina) Roth, Liberal, Mrs. Earl (Olinda) Igo, Medford, Oregon, and Mrs. Max (Frances) Ridler, Hays; three sons, Herbert, Liebenthal, Willard, Liberal, and Maynard, Hays; 16 grandchildren; three brothers, Dominic, Indianhoma, Okla., Robert, Aurora, Colo., and Andrew, Liebenthal; four sisters, Mrs. Victoria Dretiz, Straton, Colo., Mrs. Felitz Marx, Plains, Mrs. Minnie Pitts, Medford, Oregon, and Mrs. Christina Stramel, Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Liebenthal. The body will lie in state from 3 p.m. today until the time of services at Brock’s North Hill Chapel. A parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Brock’s.
