Goldie Pearl McQueen, 71, of Mattoon died at 11:10 p.m. Friday (November 7, 2003) at her residence.


Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Sand Creek Cemetery near Windsor with Rev. Richard Eident officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Dynamic Homecare in Charleston.

She was born March 4, 1932 in Shelby County, IL the daughter of Marion and Anna Homann Davis.

She married Jerald D. McQueen March 18, 1950 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death April 16, 1992.

She was a homemaker and retired from Brown Shoe Co. in Sullivan. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Ronald McQueen and wife Brenda of Mattoon, Sherry McQueen-Pieper and husband Frank of Champaign, Janet Stull and husband John of Mattoon and James McQueen and wife Cristy of Neoga; sisters, Lu Pugsley and husband Stanley of Pana and Wilma Nichols of Shelbyville; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Debra McQueen; son, Terry McQueen; brothers, Lawrence, Carl and Robert Davis; and sisters, Venna Shellenbarger and Jenny Witt.
