Services Held For Herb Edwards
Graveside services were held at Sarepta Cemetery at 3 Saturday for Herbert Walter Edwards, 79, who died at his home in Sarepta Friday.
Rev. Claude Roebuck officiated at the services, and Cook Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were C.W. Yancy, Melvin Freeman, C.R. Dickson, J.W. McGregor, W.W. Hellums and L.G. Hellums.
A son of the late Milton Edwards and Nannie Stewart Edwards, the deceased was a carpenter by trade.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mamie Zinn Edwards; a daughter, Mrs. Willis Luttrell, Sarepta; 2 brothers, John Edwards, Vance, Wash Edwards, Banner; a sister, Mrs. Emma Peden, Texas; 3 half-brothers, J.C.Edwards and Andrew Edwards, Banner, Grafton Edwards, Sarepta; eight half-sisters, Mrs. Alma Henry, Pontotoc, Mrs. Velma Haley, Washington, Mrs. Mabel Ivy, Whitehaven, Tenn., Mrs. Nina Hull and Mrs. Audrey Jackson, Memphis, Mrs. Leslie Henry, Amory, Mrs. Doris Miles, Grenada, Mrs. Mamie Lou Bagwell, Oxford; 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
