MR. JOHN ISENBERG
Died at his home, Cove Forge, this morning at 5 o'clock, aged 79 years and 27 days. He was born near Alexandria, Huntingdon county. When young he removed with his parents to the Mines, Blair county, on what is now the Joseph Wagner farm, and later to Franklin Forge, and from there to the old Isenberg homestead in Canoe Valley, and lived there until 1879, when he bought the farm opposite Cove Forge, where he resided ever since. He was married January 3, 1850 to Mary J. Kemberling at the Kemberling homestead, near Waterstreet, his wife preceding him to the grave seven months ago. To this union twelve children were born, nine boys and three girls, two boys dying in infancy, and these children still surviving: Robert, Joseph, Thornton, Walter, Servis (sic-Lewis), Seymour, Albert, Lucy, Minnie and Alice: also by one brother, Enoch, of Yellow Springs, and one sister, Mrs. Hileman, of near Waterstreet. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church at Williamsburg. The funeral services will be conducted at the house on Tuesday at 10 a.m.; interment in Canoe Valley cemetery. In the death of Mr. Isenberg Blair county lost one of its oldest and best citizens.
