Hazel Anna Chaput
Sept. 30, 1916 -- July 18, 2003

Hazel Anna Chaput, a former Corvallis resident, died Friday at Magnolia Manor in Salem. She was 86.

She was born in Miltonvale, Kan., the daughter of Hershel and Jenny Owen.

She was a cook for several years at Sigma Kappa sorority at Oregon State University. She was also secretary-treasurer of the Corvallis Horseshoe Pitching Association.
Surviving are daughter Anna Jones of Salem and son David Chaput of Crossett, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Chaput, and son, Ernest Chaput.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens near Albany.

Contributions in memory of her son, Ernest, may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis OR, 97330.
