J.C. Breeding Dozier Farmer Dies Wednesday

John C "J C" Breeding, 72, died Wednesday, Oct 7. Mr Breeding was a farmer and lifelong resident of the Enterprise Community.

Services were conducted at 2 pm Saturday, October 10, in Dozier Church of Christ, with Bob Garton of Mangum, a Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial was in Dozier Cemetery under the direction of Richerson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Charles Shields, Doug Darrow, Leon Myers, Gary Oldham, Ray Dwyer, Mike Oldham, Gary Wright, Douglas Douglas Coleman, Jr.

Mr Breeding was born Feb 10, 1915 in the Enterprise Community. He was the son of the late Mr and Mrs W W Breeding, early settlers in that part of the county.

He was married to Tess Ray Feb 23, 1936 in Dozier. He was a member of the Dozier Church of Christ. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 and received the Purple Heart.

He was a member and president of the Samnorwood School Board, a charter member of Samnorwood Lions Club and a member of Glynn Moore Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wellington.

Survivors are his wife, Tess Breeding; a daughter, Jo Nell Wischkaemper of Littlefield; two sons, Jimmy Ray Breeding of Dozier and Johnny Richard Breeding of Kingwood; five grandchildren: Randy Ray Breeding; Crystal Henderson, Billy Shane and Ryan Lance Wischkaemper; and John Wesley Breeding; one greatgrandson, Seth Ray Breeding; two sisters, Ethel Coleman of Wellington and Vera Amerson of Dozier and one brother, W R Breeding of Wellington.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Breeding.
