OBITUARY

Earl BREEDING, Miami Rancher, dies February 17th.

Earl BREEDING, 66, a Miami rancher who grew up in the Abra community, died Tuesday, February 17, after a long illness. After graduating from Texas A&M University, BREEDING taught vocational agriculture in the Samnorwood School in 1941 and 1942, and was scoutmaster of a Boy Scout troop. He also taught agriculture in Canadian Schools. His work with boys brought recognition for their outstanding projects.

Mr. BREEDING was a rancher at Miami for many years and served as Roberts County extension agent from 1942 until 1950.

Born in Collingsworth County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. W. BREEDING. He graduated from McLean High School in 1931 and from A&M in 1937. He belonged to First Christian Church and Miami Masonic Lodge. He was one of the first members inducted into the Cattle Breeders Hall of Fame in Arlington. He was named honorary member of the Texas Hereford Breeders Association three weeks before his death.

He married Mildred CALDWELL in 1938 at Canadian.

Services were conducted at 2 pm Friday in First Christian Church, Miami, with the Rev Ed E. Bridwell, pastor of First Christian Church in Chanute, Kansas officiating. Burial was in Edith Ford Cemetery in Canadian.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William W. BREEDING of Miami; two brothers, J. C. BREEDING of Dozier and W. R. BREEDING of Samnorwood; two sisters, Mrs. John COLEMAN of Wellington and Mrs. Carl AMERSON of Dozier; and two grandchildren.
