Olive was a school teacher in Lauderdale County, she attended Memphis Teachers College, now the University of Memphis. She and her husband Neil married on Christmas day in 1929. They had no children. After her husband died she visited with my parents several times until she had a stroke about 1990 and had to be placed in a skilled nursing facility in Ripley, Tennessee where she died in 1994.

HALLS - Olive Noel Ferguson, 89, retired teacher for Halls Public Schools, died Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale in Ripley after a heart attack. Private services will be at Halls Funeral Home with private burial to follow. She was a member of Retired Tennessee Teachers Association and Daughters of the American Revolution and a former Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Ferguson, the widow of Neil Ferguson, leaves two sisters, Ellen Cole of Amarillo, Texas, and Mildred Brown of Selmer, and a brother, George Garland Hargarett of Halls.
