Jane Shaw was the daughter of Spencer and Nancy Hanks Lane. She married Andrew J. Shaw and they had a large family. She lived at Galena Kansas for almost 40 years after the death of her husband and was responsible for raising many of the children.

OBITUARY OF JANE SHAW
Joplin Globe, Sept 15, 1953

Galena, Kan., Sept 14--Mrs. Jane Shaw, 80 years old, 1014 Galena Avenue died at 1:27 o'clock this afternoon in St. John's hospital in Joplin where she had been a patient two weeks. Mrs. Shaw, a resident of Galena 70 years, had been in ill health three months.

Mrs. Shaw, the former Jane Lane, came to Galena with her parents when she was 10 years old. She was a member of the Sixth Street Baptist church.

Five of Mrs. Shaw's 13 children survive. They are three sons, James Shaw, George Shaw, and Jess Shaw, all of Gelana, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Eash of Tulsa and Mrs. Mildred Clendenning of Baxter Springs. Other survivors include 32 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held by Derfelt Funeral Home.
