Andy Shaw was born in Webster County, Mo. He was the youngest son of George and Sarah (Morris) Shaw. He married Cora Jane Lane and they lived at Galena, Kansas until his death. They raised a large family.

Andrew Shaw, 44 years old, died in his home at Shaw Hill at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. Death was caused by tuberculosis. Shaw had been a resident of Galena 25 years. Much of that time he resided at Shaw Hill, east of the city, from which it derived it's name.
Funeral services will be from the residence at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
