Fourth child of Samuel and Mary Ann (Zimmerman) Schlappi. Was born in Delta, Fulton Co., Ohio. Her family lived on a tract that her grandfather, Christian Schlappi had purchased from the U.S. Govt. in 1834 for $1.50/acre. When she was 18, the family sold their farm in Delta and purchased a parcel in Castleton, Barry Co., Michigan, where she died.
