Phoebe is listed as one of Jacob and Barbara Winkelman's children in the 1850 US PA census for Northumberland Borough, Northumberland county, PA. Her husband and childrens' names, birth, and death dates are recorded in Phoebe Winkelman's bible, a copy of whose records are in the possession of this compiler, and supplied by Phoebe's direct descendant, Shirley Heintzelman, of Rockville, Maryland in 1996. According to these bible records, John Cake, Esq. married Phebe (spelled that way) Winkelman and Abraham Werts. Extracted records of United Lutheran and Reformed Church (now St. John's Evangelical Lutheran) in Northumberland show evidence of Phoebe Werts and her husband Abraham Werts as communicants at this church on April 10, 1859. From this discovery one could assume that they were members of this church. For some unknown reason Phoebe's name is listed twice on this day, along with 57 other communicants. Phoebe is buried in the Reformed Church Cemetery, located in Snydertown, Northumberland county, PA, next to her husband, Abraham. Location of burial was also provided by descendant Shirley Heintzelman in 1996.
