Hazel M. McDonald, 98, of Ludington died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at Oakview Medical Care Facility where she was a resident for the past year. She was born July 16,1908 in Riverton Township. The former Hazel Fitch, she married R. Floyd McDonald on May 5, 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1979.
She was a member of United Methodist Church and church circle. She attended County Normal after high school graduation and taught for three years before her marriage.
Hazel is survived by two sons, F. Dale (Pat) McDonald of Hart and Louis L. (Bethany) McDonald of Yuma, Ariz.; a daughter, Wauneta Bates of Ludington; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Brant and Helen Burmeister, both of Ludington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby; five sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Alexander-Rye Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Letsinger officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elbridge Twp. Cemetery, Oceana County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to United Methodist Church Building fund or Oakview Medical Care
Facility.
