T.J. Thurmond, retired lumberman, died yesterday after a long illness at his home, 1305 Willow Street.
He was a resident of San Jose for 25 years and a member of Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving him are his widow, Lillian, and five daughters, Lucille Thurmond, Mrs. Gail Willis and Mrs. Hazel Kennedy, all of San Jose; Mrs. Nell Bonham of Oakland, and Mrs. Flora Bisceglia of Bakersfield, and a son, the Rev. R.J. Thurmond of Santa Cruz.
Williams Funeral Chapel will be in charge of services tomorrow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Funeral service Thursday, Feb. 19, 1953, at 2:00 o'clock p.m., from the Williams Funeral Chapel, East Santa Clara.
