She married Kentucky native Thomas Jefferson Thurmond in Ash Grove, at Clinton's Christian Church, on October 4, 1893. The first 4 of were born in Ash Grove, then around 1901 they moved to California. Their first stop was Fresno, where their daughter Nell was born, then to San Joaquin county where their youngest 4 children were born.
In all, Jeff & Lillie had 9 children:

Mrs. Lillie B. Thurmond, 86, a resident of San Jose the past 40 years, died yesterday at 1209 Glenn Ave. where she made her home with her daughter, Lucille K. Thurmond.
A native of Missouri, she had long been active in church circles as a Bible teacher.
Besides Miss Thurmond, survivors include a son, The Rev. R.J. Thurmond of Richmond; three other daughters, Mrs. Nell Bonham of Castro Valey, Mrs. Flora Bisceglia of Fresno, and Mrs. Hazel Kennedy of San Jose.
A sister, Mrs. Pearl Thompson of Oregon, and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeal [sic] services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Mortuary's Chapel of Roses. Burial will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
