The Sentinel (Carlisle, PA), Thursday, September 25, 1941; pg. 2

William A. Eppley, 84, of 140 Wilson Street, died at 11:25 o'clock last night in Carlisle Hospital from the effects of a paralytic stroke suffered on Sunday.

He was seized early Sunday afternoon shortly after returning home from Sunday School and morning service at the First Presbyterian Church where he was an active member.

Mr. Eppley, son of the late John and Matilda Sheaffer Eppley, resided with a son, L. Eugene Eppley. He leaves also a brother, M. Luther Eppley; a granddaughter, Mrs. Marshall Line, and a grandson, Sgt. Creedin E. Eppley, now stationed at Camp Meade, all of Carlisle.

Services will be held Saturday at 3 o'clock in the home, with burial in Westminster Cemetery. Rev. R. Walter Anderson, Carlisle, will officiate, assisted by Rev. M.C. Manning, Shippensburg. Friends may call at the home tomorrow night from 7 to 9 o'clock.

He was a member of of the First Presbyterian Church and is survived by a son, L. Eugene Eppley, Carlisle; a brother, M. Luther Eppley, Carlisle, and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the home with burial in Westminster Cemetery. The Rev. R, Walter Anderson will officiate. Friends may call tonight at the home.

William A. Eppley, 140 Wilson Street, was buried in Westminster Cemetery following services this afternoon in the home. Rev. R. Walter Anderson officiated, assisted by Rev. M.C. Manning, Shippensburg. Pallbearers were Harold Park, Hugh Heckman, Raymond Shugharts (sic), Clyde Herr, Roy Danner and Robert Failor.
