M. Luther Eppley, 247 West South Street, a retired farmer, died yesterday afternoon in Carlisle Hospital. He was 89 years old.

He was born in Cumberland County, the son of the late John and Matilda Sheaffer Eppley. After retiring from farming he was custodian of the library of the Dickinson School of Law for a number of years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is a sister (NOTE: it should say daughter), Miss Mary W. Eppley, at home.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the J. R. Shulenberger Funeral Home, 169 West High Street. Rev. Russell M. Weer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church and Rev. Dr. Simpson B. Daugherty, pastor of Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow night from 7:30 until 8:30 o'clock at the funeral home.
