Emmalina Sand was born in Loraine Township, Henry County, April 22, 1854. She was one of a family of seven children, two of seven whom survive her. One brother, Casper of Geneseo, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Jaquet of Loraine. She was united in marriage March 26, 1878 to Henry Jaquet at Lorain, where they resided until eighteen years ago, when they moved to Bureau county, where they have lived ever since. To Mr. and Mrs. Jaquet were born eight children, Elmer, George, Clarence, Jesse, and Floyd, all of Bureau county, Mrs. Hannah Whipple of Dehinda, Mrs. Lottie Whipple of Wyanet, and Mrs. Florence Bechdolt, of Deer Grove. Mrs. Jaquet was a member of the Free Methodist Church at New Bedford an a woman of good Christian character. A good neighbor and an affectionate mother and wife. She for some time was a patient sufferer with complications of diseases, but her faith in her Master alleviated much of her suffering, and it was in this faith she fell asleep on Monday, September 7, leaving to mourn her departure the above mentioned 8 children and her husband, and fourteen grand children. Funeral services were held at her late home, conducted by Rev. Browrigg of New Bedford. Burial was made in the Tampico cemetery. The family hereby wishes to express their appreciation of the assistance and sympathy offered them during their bereavement.
