Stephen Weare was born August 2, 1855 at Allegan, Michigan and passed away May 14, 1926 at Omaha, Nebraska, age 70 years, 9 months and 12 days. He came to Valley County with his parents nearly fifty years ago and this was his home for many years. About fifteen years ago, he removed to Greeley and that has been his home since.

The remains were sent to Ord Monay and taken to the Sowl undertaking rooms and the following morning Mr. Sowl was called to get the remains of J. C. Work and we were reminded that the Work and Weare families had been great friends for many years and for years Mr. Weare and Mr. Work had been next door neighbors in business, Mr. Wear having a feed store next to the Work shop and the two men were the closest friends.

Mr. Weare was married to Mamie Higgins January 1, 1889, and to this union six children were born, two preceding the father in death. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and three sons, Lawrence, Homer and Howard and one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Haley and a brother, William Weare of Ord also many friends.

The funeral was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Ord Presbyterian church with Rev. Hansen officiating and interment was in the Ord cemetery.
