Monday night at about 10 o'clock, Mrs. Julia A. Weare passed away aged nearly 81 years. Julia A. Kendall was born in Cattaraugas County, New York May 10, 1823. When a child her parents moved to Illinois and lived for awhile on the present site of the city of Chicago, but later moved back as far as Michigan, which was then a new country, and there her home was until coming to Valley County. In 1839 she was married to Dr. Richard Weare and to them ten children were born, seven of them who are still living. These are William, Burney, and Stephen Weare of Ord, Arthur Weare of Alligan, Michigan, Pursis Buell and Carolyn Jones, and Captain Weare of Washington State. None of the distant relatives were able to come here for the funeral. In 1882, she and her husband moved to Ord to live near their children here and made their home here till the end. The doctor died May 28, 1898 aged 94 years. Among the people, Grandma Weare has always been held in high respect. The funeral was held from the Episcopal Church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Fred Graves officiating.
