Seven-Year-Old Boy Hit by

Motorcycle on Saturday Night

EXONERATED THE DRIVER

Eugene Shuey, the seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Shuey, of Tower City, was fatally injured on Saturday evening when he was struck by a motorcycle driven by a man by the name of Weaver, of Lykens.


The little fellow according to witnesses darted in front of the cycle as it was proceeding along Grand Avenue, and was struck before the driver could swerve from his path. He was removed to the office of Dr. Hawk, where it was found he was suffering from a fracture of the skull and also a broken leg. He was taken to his home and died there on Sunday morning about three o'clock.


The child's father is a well known barber of Tower City, and besides the parents is survived by several brothers and sisters.


Dr. Hawk, deputy coroner of Tower City, held an inquest into the child's death on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and exonerated the driver from all blame.

Injuries received when he was struck by a motorcycle shortly after seven o'clock Saturday evening proved fatal to Eugene Henry, 7 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Shuey of Tower City. The accident occurred on East Grand Avenue, near the American Theater in that town.


It is said the child darted out into the street from behind two parked cars. Harry Weaver of Lykens was the operator of the motorcycle, who stopped to render assistance. The boy was taken to the office of Dr. David Hauck, nearby where it was found he had sustained a fractured skull and a fracture of the laft leg. He died at the home of his parents at 3 o'clock, Sunday morning.


Funeral services were held from the parents home on Wednesday morning and were attended by pupils of the second grade of the Tower City public schools, of which the boy was a pupil. Rev. C. E. Heffleger, pastor of the Tower City Reformed Charge officiated and interment was made in the cemetery at that place.


The boy is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mary and Gloria, three brothers, Walter, Rufus and John, all at home.
