Gloria L. Tothero, 81, of Wernersville died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at 5:08 p.m. in the Reading Hospital, where she was a patient since Aug. 6.
Her husband, Charles E. Tothero, died April 5, 2009.
Born in Tower City, Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Milton and Ruby (Clauser) Shuey.
Gloria retired from Talbot Retail Store, Womelsdorf, in 1973 and was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Vinemont Community Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir. She was a past member of the Wernersville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, past president of the Reading Salvation Army Auxiliary, and was also a charter member of the Heidelberg Heritage Society in Wernersville.
She is survived by a son, Michael L., husband of Cheryl Ebert, Wernersville; two grandchildren, Lauren, wife of John C. Ritchie V, and Andrew Ebert; and a great-grandson, John C. "Jack" Ritchie VI.
She was also predeceased by a son, Ralph Ebert, in 1952; a step son, C. Lamar Tothero; and her 10 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Inc., Wernersville, with Rev. James DeLong officiating. Interment at Heidelberg Cemetery, Robesonia. Friends are invited to call Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
