WANATAH -- Raymond L. Werner, 80, of Wanatah, died Monday, October 18, 1993, at home.
He was born September 4, 1913, in Wanatah, the son of Ludwig and Pauline Werner.
He was a graduate of Wanatah High School and had farmed in the area all of his life. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends and was currently a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wanatah.
On October 22, 1935, he married Ruby Hart, who preceded him in death in July of this year.
Surviving are two daughters, Laurel (Gene) Cole of Valparaiso and Mary Welkie of Wanatah; one brother, Willard Werner of Michigan; one sister, Vera Billerbeck of Wanatah; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl Werner.
Services 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Wanatah; the Rev. Joel Zipay officiating; burial at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Wanatah; visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wiesjahn Funeral Home, Wanatah; memorials to St. John's Cemetery Fund.
