J. O. Laymon, a former citizen of Iola, died Sunday at his home in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 76 years old.
Mr. Laymon was born in Nebraska, coming to Iola with his parents when he was about 18 years old. He lived here or in this vicinity until moving to California about 14 years ago. He is survived by two daughters, who live in California, and a sister, Mrs. I. C. Cuppy, Carlyle.
The body will be brought here for burial. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
