Of the Kittanning Point Road, died at 5:20 a.m. today in the Altoona Hospital, where he was admitted Nov. 17, after a brief illness. He was born in Bavaria, Germany May 17, 1903, a son of Xavier and Theresa (Shafrad)Knab, and married Maria Lehner. Surviving are his wife, eight children, Mrs. Elizabeth Moore and Herman of Duncansville, Joseph, Harold, Edward and Mrs. Caroline Chamberlain of Altoona. Mrs Mary Kraszewski of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs Rose Dryburgh of Buffalo, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren, two brothers Joseph of Hollidaysburg and Albert of Toledo, Ohio; five brothers and three sisters in Germany. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Cesare Battista Society and was employed as a machinist in the Juniata shops. Friends will be received at the Stevens Mortuary after 7 p.m. today.
