Evelyn (Ferne) Baker, 68, Tampa, Fla., died Jan. 8, 1982, at Tampa General Hospital. She was born April 29, 1913, in Savage, Pa., daughter of the late Ferris C. and Edna (Shumaker) Ringer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gardner Baker. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Effie Lou Maddison, Juneau, Wisc.; three step-daughters; two step-sons; three grandsons, James, John and Joseph Maddison. She was a sister of Mrs. Hazel Sipe and William P. Ringer, both of Rockwood; Mrs. Myrna Madjerich of Summerville, S.C.; Mrs. Lois Kelly of Johnstown; Mrs. Mary Newton, Mrs. Dorothy Felton and Donald Ringer, all of Tampa, Fla.; Robert E. and Karl F. Ringer, both of Angola, N.Y.; Ferris J., of Portage, Ind.; and Mrs. Ruth Shaffer of Somerset. Friends were received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral services were conducted with the Rev. Gregory Rile officiating. Interment Union Cemetery, New Centerville, Pa.
