Johnie Amonett
Services for Johnie Bob Amonett, 82, retired automobile salesman of 1518 N. Broughton who died Thursday at a Sherman hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. The Rev. Keith Gant of the Faith Baptist Church in Sherman will officiate. Burial will be at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. Amonett was born in Texas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ples Miller Amonett and married Alice Ayres in 1917. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Mrs. Martha Sue Darter and Mrs. Margaret Ann Starnes, both of Sherman; sons, Bill Amonett and Jerry Amonett McNeill, both of Dallas and Ben Amonett of San Saba; brother, George Amonett of Houston; sister, Mrs. Jimmie Arrington of Van Alstyne; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Jack Ireland, Frank Ayres, David Nixon, A.R. Hooker, Jr., Howard Hooker and Johnny Taylor.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
