Services for Mrs. Kate Ayers, 91, of 823 W. Laurel, a housewife who died Friday at her home, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Flesher Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne. The Rev. Donald Griffith of the First Christian Church, and the Rev. A.E. Vessells will conduct.
Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Born in Clay County, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Plese Amonett and married Alvin Ayers on Nov. 27, 1906, in Van Alstyne. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Annabelle Nixon of Sherman; son, Frank Ayers of Van Alstyne; sisters, Mrs. Jimmy Arrington of Van Alstyne and Mrs. Matt Ross of San Antonio; brothers, Johnny Bob Amonett of Sherman and George Wade Amonett of Houston; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers are Paul Nixon, Paul Wayne Nixon, Jack Koley, Danny Burleson, Larry Cloer and Leon Carter.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
