Services for Jack Amonett of Van Alstyne, 85, a retired laborer who died Wednesday at a Sherman hospital were held Friday at Flesher Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Donald Griffith. Burial was in Van Alstyne cemetery.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Mary Bybee of Shreveport, La.; sisters, Mrs. Jim Ross of San Antonio, Mrs. Alvin Ayres of Sherman and Mrs. Raymond Arrington of Van Alstyne; brothers, Johnny Bob Amonett of Sherman and George Wade Amonett of Houston, and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jack Ireland, Cecil Lane, Raymond Nixon, Dub Gray, David Nixon, and Tommy Bybee.
