Peter Kohl, Wausau, former Marshfield area resident, died of age complications Sunday morning at the Wausau home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Jaecks. He was 97 years of age and had been in poor health since last June.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Grace Lutheran Church at Nasonville with the Rev. Phillip Mueller officiating. Burial will be made in the Nasonville cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Hansen Funeral Home here from this evening until noon Wednesday, when it will be taken to the church.
Mr. Kohl was born in the town of Wayne, Washington County, July 10, 1862 and received his education in Washington County. He came to Wood County with his parents at the age of 17 and farmed in the town of Rock until 1931, when he retired. Since then he has made his home with his children. For the past 10 years he had resided at Wausau.
He married the former Caroline Lieber on Jan. 5, 1886, in the town of Rock. She died July 25, 1921.
He was a clerk of the Golden Glow School District, a former member and supervisor of the town board and a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Elizabeth Juneau Sr. and Mrs. Arnold (Mildred) Jaecks, both of Wausau; Mrs. Edwin (Elsie) Ott, Marshfield; Mrs. Amelia McCarthy, Beloit; Mrs. Rush (Caroline) Wentworth, Whitewater; Mrs. Edwin (Viola) Garlock, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Mae Fuller, Rockton, Ill.; two sons, Walter Kohl, Marshfield; Alfred Kohl, Rockton, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four brother, George, Marshfield; Paul and Will Kohl, both of Wausau; Henry Kohl, Lidgerwood, N.D., and a-sister, Mrs. Laura Bullock, Deerfield, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Grace Lutheran Church at Nasonville for Peter Kohl, 97, Wausau, former Marshfield resident, who died Sunday. The Rev. Phillip K. Mueller officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Alvin Ott and Mrs. Lawrence Dix, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Meissner at the organ, sang "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me" and Asleep in Jesus."
