It is learned that Mrs. Susan Botkin died on Thursday morning.

Highland Recorder January 14, 1916

Mrs. Susan Botkin, an aged resident, and widow of the late James Botkin, died last Thursday morning of grip and pneumonia, at the home of Elbert Rexrode, where she was visiting. She had reached the ripe age of 82 years and had been a consistent member of the church of the Brethren for a number of years. "Aunt Susie," as she was familiarly known, was a kind neighbor, and good woman. She was the mother of five children, three of whom survive her, Mrs. John Snyder and Harrison Botkin, of this neighborhood, and Peter Botkin, of Lexington, ILL. The funeral services were held Friday morning by Rev. Josiah Beverage, assisted by Rev. Wendell Allen, and the remains interred in the Doe Hill cemetery.
