Myrtie Belle Welty Passed Away Febr. 25
Mrs. Myrtie Belle Welty, daughter of George A. and Mariah V. Terhune, was born on August 10, 1872, in Burlington Junction, Missouri, and departed this life on Febr. 25, 1958, having attained the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 14 days.
On September 23, 1888, she was united in marriage to John H. Welty, who preceded her in death on December 11, 1925. Twelve children were born to them, all of which are living: Ed C., George B., Arthur H., Lee A., Kersey D., all of Kearney and John of Arcadia; Mrs. Emma Hodge, Miss Blanch Welty, Mrs. Charlotte Smith of Kearney; Mrs. Lucille Minne of Lincoln, Mrs. Lillie Bridges of Sprig Valley, Minn., and Mrs. Virginia Bridges of Hillsboro, Oregon.
Mrs. Welty was one of seven children. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Etta Donnell of Kearney, Nebr., and Mrs. Allen Howey of Couer de Alene, Idaho; two brothers, Edward M. Terhune of Alzada, Montana, and Oliver O. Terhune of Gering, Nebr. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a devoted and loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Welty Sunday afternoon at the Arcadia Methodist Church. Burial was in the Arcadia cemetery.
