Eleazer Evans, son of Bishop David Evans and Barbara Ann Ewell, was born February 23, 1861, in Lehi, Utah County, Utah.

He was called to fill a mission in the European mission and left Lehi October 16, 1883, arriving in Liverpool November 2, 1883. He was assigned to labor in the Swiss and German Mission, going first to Switzerland and then to his field of labor in Berlin, Germany, at which place he remained until the latter part of January following.

On account, of failing health, he was recalled to England. While in London, he contracted a severe cold. He was released to return home accompanied by Elder Joseph Wild of American Fork. Utah, leaving Liverpool on the 16th of February and arriving in New York February 25/26, 1884. He arrived in Salt Lake City March 2 same month, receiving his release March 2, 1884.

Eleazer died at his mother's home in Lehi, on March 24, 1884.
