Araminta Evans was born near Shoal Creek, Caldwell County, Missouri, on August 21, 1838, to David and Mary Beck Evans. She was their sixth child and no doubt was someone special to come to their home to help fill the emptiness left by the death of her sister, Margaret.

She did prove to be special as like her sister, her stay was short and she was called to leave this life on October 19, 1838, causing the clouds to again gather around this family. Another little grave they had to leave behind. Such trials and hardships they had to bear, but they were not alone for there was much for all the Saints to endure, and with undaunted faith they were able to carry on.

The Lord blessed this family with another baby girl, Emma, in 1840, then in 1841 Mary Beck Evans was called in death to join her babies.
