OBITUARY - WALHALLA MOUNTAINEER - WALHALLA, NORTH DAKOTA - THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 1937 - PAGE 1, COLUMN 2

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 10, from St. Boniface church in Walhalla for Mrs. Arthur Vandal (sic) who died suddenly at her home in this city Sunday, November 7, 1937. Very Reverend R. Longpre officiated at the rites.

Eugenie Bachand was born April 10, 1870 in St. Bruneau Province of Quebec, Canada. She was married to Arthur Vandol August 10, 1886 and, for three years, lived at St. Simmon (sic). In 1889 they migrated to the Dakotas and homesteaded in the Elm Point district where they made their home until they moved to the city several years ago.

Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Vandol: Mrs. Arthur Messier of Millairdville, B.C.; Mrs. Frank Gerdes, of Yakima, Washington; Emmelyne, who died in 1907; Yvonne of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Wesley Wilson of Grafton; Mrs. W.G. Crandall, Muskogee, Oklahoma; Eugene of the Fremont district; Mrs. Oscar Chaput, Renville, Minnesota and Mrs. A.B. Krause of Minneapolis, Minnesota. All survive, with Mr. Vandol, and a brother, Euclid Bachand, of this city.

Pallbearers were Emile Gastonguay, Arthur Gastonguay, Fred Verville, Albert Hornung, Victor Hornung, and Camille Morin. Interment was in the Walhalla Cemetery. (Contributor's note: She is buried in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Walhalla).

Those here for the funeral were; Mrs. Crandall, Yvonne, Mrs. Oscar Chaput, Mrs. Wesley Wilson, Eugene, and Mrs. Krause, who has been visiting here for several weeks.
