Houston—Joe Reid King, 82, died Saturday, August 18, 2012, at his home. He was born in Chickasaw County on July 19, 1930 to Charles Herman King and Vannie Lee Ashcraft King. He retired as an electrician and was a member of the IEBW. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Houston.
Services will be 12 noon on Monday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston. Burial will be in the Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery in Houston. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jean Beaty King of Houston; one daughter, Mary Esther Shannon (Jimmy) of Shannon; five sons, Robert Lee King of Muscle Shoals, AL, Roy Reid King (Vickie) of Chattanooga, TN, Lloyd Wayne King (Ann) of Mobile, AL, Randy Eugene King (May) of Chong Qing, China, and Carl Wade King (Debra) of Houston; 14 grand children; 20 great grand children; one sister, Grace Sisk (Mitchell) of Shannon; two brothers, Billy King (Dorothy) of Houston and Gene King ( Sue) of Houston.
Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Lewis King and Jack King; 2 sisters, Arlette Price and Jewel Gambrell.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
